Wheels for Site Office and Welfare Containers

Site offices, canteens, changing rooms and sanitary units are often built in 10 ft, 20 ft or 40 ft containers. As a construction project progresses, they get in the way and have to move. Rental companies move them around their depots every day. Our container wheels lock into the ISO corner castings, so you can roll a cabin to its new spot without a crane or truck.

How much does an office or welfare container weigh?

Less than most people expect. A typical 20 ft portable cabin weighs from about 1,850 kg, and a 20 ft sanitary cabin from about 2,500 kg. Furniture, equipment and filled water tanks add to that. Most 10 ft and 20 ft units stay well within the capacity of our Compact set.

Why put site cabins on wheels?

  • Follow the project. Move offices and welfare units as the site layout changes, without waiting for a crane.
  • Faster depot handling. Rental companies can shuffle cabins in the yard with less heavy equipment.
  • Tool-free mounting. The twistlock connection clicks into the corner castings, no welding needed.
  • Reusable. One set of wheels serves the whole fleet.

Before you move a cabin

  • Disconnect power, water and drainage.
  • Empty water tanks to reduce the weight, and secure loose furniture and equipment.
  • Check that the cabin has ISO 1161 corner castings at the bottom corners. Many modular cabins do, but not all.
  • On soft ground, lay steel plates or boards along the route. Move slowly and set the brakes once in position.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move a site office container with the furniture inside?

Yes, as long as the total weight stays within the dynamic load capacity of the wheel set. Secure loose items first. Most furnished 20 ft offices fit on the Compact set.

Do the wheels work on a construction site?

Yes. The polyurethane treads grip well on concrete, asphalt and compacted gravel. On soft or muddy ground, lay plates along the route first.

Which wheels do I need for a 40 ft office container?

If the total weight is above 5,400 kg, choose the Pro or Pro SL, which carry up to 13,500 kg. Enter the weight in the selector to check.
